Zeru Miami: New Basque Restaurant in Brickell (Miami)

Have you been to @zerumiami the latest fine dining Mediterranean-Basque restaurant to open in Brickell? They serve a Manchego Cheese Fondant dessert that is soft, sweet, and fluffy, which is currently my favorite dessert in all of Miami. Other personal favorites were the Josper-grilled Branzino & the Octopus “a la Gallega.” I recommend visiting at sunset so you can enjoy the sunlight spilling through the windows and lighting up your food in golden rays for a magical dining experience. ✨

Located in the first floor of the @hotelakabrickell, it features a bright contemporary dining room with a floor to ceiling bookcase and lush vegetation. Zeru, which means “heaven” in Basque, serves signature lunch and dinner menus inspired by the cuisine of San Sebastian, a coastal city in the north of the Basque country. Highlights are the Getaria-style seasonal fish options and a variety of Socarrat dishes, as well as Josper-grilled options such as King Crab with Saffron and Japanese Kobe Striploin.

At Zeru, they apply the traditional techniques of the Basque asador to the finest ingredients to create a unique gastronomical experience of authentic flavors.

Zeru Miami is located at 1395 Brickell Ave. The restaurant is open for lunch from Sunday through Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. and daily for dinner starting at 5:30 p.m.

About Author

Paola Mendez is a hypnotherapist, published author, and the curious soul behind Coral Gables Love and The Blogger Union. Her journey didn't start in a clinician's office — it started at age 15, battling a mind that used food to quiet a constant internal critic. After two decades at war with her own subconscious, searching for peace as a self-described "introvert in a loud world," Paola found her way out through hypnotherapy. That same journey pushed her out into the city she loves, discovering the gems hiding in plain sight all around Coral Gables. Today, she channels both passions into everything she does: helping people quiet their inner critic through her hypnotherapy practice Pao Hypnosis, sharing those subconscious healing tools through her app Mochi Zen, and showcasing the people, places, and flavors that make South Florida worth savoring — one matcha latte at a time. She is also the author of A Taste of Coral Gables, a cookbook featuring recipes from the city's top chefs. Say hello at info@coralgableslove.com
