RTT Hypnotherapy Miami: What Locals Are Quietly Discovering

RTT Hypnotherpay Miami. Woman in relaxed wellness setting representing RTT hypnotherapy in Miami — Coral Gables Love

Full disclosure: I’m both the author of this post and the RTT hypnotherapist behind Pao Hypnosis and the founder of Mochi Zen. I started Coral Gables Love to share things I genuinely love about this community; and this is one of them.

You know how Miami always seems to have a wellness moment before the rest of the country catches on? We were doing cold plunges and sound baths before most people had heard of them. There’s something new making its way quietly through the local wellness community right now; and honestly, it surprised me too when I first discovered it.

RTT hypnotherapy.

I know. Stay with me.

I’m going to tell you what it actually is (not what you’re picturing), what it’s doing for women here in Miami, and how you can try it: whether you want a full one-on-one session or just want to dip a toe in from your couch tonight.

Want to experience it before you read any further? The Mochi Zen app has RTT-based hypnotherapy audio sessions you can try free for 7 days (no credit card required).

What Is RTT Hypnotherapy, Exactly?

RTT stands for Rapid Transformational Therapy. It was developed by Marisa Peer, one of the most recognized therapists in the world, and it works by combining hypnotherapy with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy and neurolinguistic programming.

Here’s the simplest way I can explain it: most of our habits, patterns, and emotional responses aren’t driven by our conscious mind. They’re driven by the subconscious, by beliefs and associations that were formed long before we had any say in the matter. The reason you can know exactly what you should do and still not do it consistently isn’t a willpower problem. It’s a subconscious program running underneath everything.

RTT goes there. It guides you into a deeply relaxed state where the subconscious becomes more open to updating those programs; and replacing the ones that aren’t working with something that actually serves you.

It sounds a little woo until you watch it work. And then it just sounds like science.

No, It’s Not Like the Movies

I know exactly what you’re picturing. The swinging pocket watch. Someone going blank-eyed and losing control of their mind. A stage show where the hypnotist makes someone quack like a duck.

That’s not RTT. Not even close.

In a real session, you are fully present and fully aware the entire time. You’re not being controlled. You’re being guided into a relaxed, focused state where the real conversation can happen. One of my clients described it perfectly after her first session: “It’s like a guided meditation. It’s nothing like what they show in the movies or TV.”

She came to me for a phobia. A month and a half later, it was gone.

What I’m Watching Happen in Miami

I want to be thoughtful about privacy here, so I’ll speak in general terms; but what I’m seeing in my practice is genuinely moving.

People come to me thinking they want help with food, cravings, or weight. What we often discover is that the eating is a response to something much older: a belief about themselves, a pattern of emotional regulation, a story that got written in childhood and never got updated. RTT doesn’t manage the symptom. It finds the source.

One client came to me with chronic pain that had been worsening for years (no comfortable position sitting, standing, or lying down). Through our RTT work together, they lost 30 pounds, restored full mobility, came out of a depression, and now wakes up at 5:30 AM excited to go for a walk. That’s not a diet plan. That’s a life rebuilt.

I’ve also watched RTT help with fear of rejection, difficulty setting boundaries, nervous system dysregulation  (that quiet, persistent feeling of being stuck that so many of us carry without ever naming it). RTT reaches the part that other approaches don’t.

It’s not magic. But it does work faster than most people expect. And the results tend to hold because you’re changing the program underneath, not just managing the behavior on top.

Can’t Make It to a Session? There’s an App for That

A lot of people hear about RTT and immediately think “I wish I could try that”; and then real life happens. One-on-one sessions are a meaningful investment of time and money, and I get that not everyone is ready to dive straight in.

That’s honestly part of why I built Mochi Zen.

Mochi Zen is a wellness app that brings RTT-based hypnotherapy audio sessions to your phone or laptop; combined with an AI-powered nutrition tracker, a daily journal, and a weight tracker. It was designed specifically for the emotional eating and weight loss work, the version of RTT I see the most demand for from women who’ve already tried every other app and want something that actually reaches the root.

A psychologist, Dr. Irma Campos, recently reviewed the app and called it “convenient, supportive, and effective” — noting that research supports hypnotherapy as a complement to other weight management approaches.

The app is available on iOS, Android, and web. There’s a 7-day free trial with full access (no credit card required). If you want to feel what RTT actually does before committing to a full session, this is the gentlest, lowest-commitment way to find out.

How to Try RTT in Miami

Two paths, depending on where you are:

Ready to go deep? Book a one-on-one RTT session at paohypnosis.com. Sessions are 90 minutes and available in person in Miami or virtually. This is the most powerful way to experience the work. We go to the specific pattern behind whatever you’re working on and address it directly.

Want to start from your couch tonight? The Mochi Zen app is free for 7 days and takes about two minutes to set up. Listen to your first session tonight and see how you feel tomorrow.

Either way, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think. This is the work I believe in most, and sharing it with this community feels exactly right.

Your Questions Answered

What is RTT hypnotherapy?

Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) is a methodology developed by world-renowned therapist Marisa Peer. It uses guided hypnotherapy to identify and update the subconscious beliefs and patterns driving unwanted behaviors — from emotional eating to fear, anxiety, and self-sabotage.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Yes. RTT hypnotherapy is a relaxation-based, non-invasive practice. You remain fully conscious and aware throughout. You’re not being controlled, you’re being gently guided. As with any wellness practice, if you have a history of serious mental health conditions, check with your doctor first.

What does an RTT session actually feel like?

Most people describe it as the most relaxed they’ve ever felt while still being completely present. There’s a guided relaxation component, then a focused conversation that goes deeper than most therapy. You’ll remember everything. And often something shifts before the session even ends.

How many sessions do you need?

RTT is designed to create change faster than traditional therapy. Many people notice meaningful shifts after a single session. Paola offers a 3-session package for deeper or more complex work. Each session also comes with a personalized audio recording to listen to daily for 21 days after; that’s when the real rewiring happens.

Is RTT good for weight loss?

It’s particularly powerful for emotional eating, cravings, and the subconscious patterns that make lasting change so hard. Research published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology found that people who combined hypnotherapy with a weight loss program lost more than twice as much weight as those who didn’t (and maintained those results at two years). That’s the science behind what Mochi Zen is built on.

What is Mochi Zen?

Mochi Zen is a wellness app combining RTT-based hypnotherapy audio sessions with AI-powered nutrition tracking. It’s designed for women who want to address both the root cause of emotional eating and the practical nutritional side; in one place. Available on iOS, Android, and web with a 7-day free trial.

Can I try RTT at home?

Yes, that’s what Mochi Zen is for. The app’s hypnotherapy audio sessions are designed to be listened to daily at home, ideally at night before sleep. Most people start noticing shifts within the first one to two weeks.

Do I have to be in Miami to work with Paola?

No. Paola sees clients in person in Miami and virtually anywhere. Book at paohypnosis.com.
