New Art Exhibit in Coral Gables – Moon Over The Gables

Moon Over The Gables Public Art Installation in Coral Gables

Had a blast at the grand opening of Moon Over Coral Gables the latest public art installation in @cityofcoralgables. It’s definitely worth checking out.

With the real moon as its backdrop, Coral Gables plays host to a celestial art experience with “MOON Over The Gables.” The event, bringing the internationally renowned “Museum of the Moon” to Ponce Circle Park, displays an awe-inspiring, glowing replica of the moon that is 23 feet in diameter and features NASA imagery of the lunar surface. Brought by the @coralgablescf and the City of Coral Gables, the same team that brought the popular Umbrella Sky experience.

The Coral Gables Community Foundation has a lineup of moonlight events on deck, including live entertainment, a screening of E.T., performances from the Miami Royal Ballet, a Goodnight Moon Pajama Party for little astronauts, moonlight yoga for adult astronauts, and a Howling at the Moon event for dog lovers everywhere!

London-based artist, @lukejerramartist, loans his spectacular traveling exhibition, @museumofthemoon.

The Moon rises at sundown Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 9-11; March 16-18; and March 23-25, 2023.

About Author

Paola Mendez is a hypnotherapist, published author, and the curious soul behind Coral Gables Love and The Blogger Union. Her journey didn't start in a clinician's office — it started at age 15, battling a mind that used food to quiet a constant internal critic. After two decades at war with her own subconscious, searching for peace as a self-described "introvert in a loud world," Paola found her way out through hypnotherapy. That same journey pushed her out into the city she loves, discovering the gems hiding in plain sight all around Coral Gables. Today, she channels both passions into everything she does: helping people quiet their inner critic through her hypnotherapy practice Pao Hypnosis, sharing those subconscious healing tools through her app Mochi Zen, and showcasing the people, places, and flavors that make South Florida worth savoring — one matcha latte at a time. She is also the author of A Taste of Coral Gables, a cookbook featuring recipes from the city's top chefs. Say hello at info@coralgableslove.com
