I first heard 14-year-old singer/guitarist IsaCat at the Gables Guitar recital last May. IsaCat drew raucous applause from the crowd when she performed her acoustic version of the song “Mad Hatter” by Melanie Martinez. In addition to performing at similar small events around Miami, IsaCat has already taken her talent into the recording studio to record her fist EP, for which IsaCat’s friends and cat-ear-wearing fans attended the September release party at Hard Rock Cafe.
“My Kingdom”, her new song, has a catchy melody and lyrics that speak of not being afraid of being yourself. I love the positive message IsaCat is sharing with her generation and you will too. Check out her music video below. If you enjoyed it support your local rising star by sharing it with your friends.
IsaCat’s My Kingdom Video
“It was important to me that everyone’s originality and individuality be celebrated. As teens we are pushed into cliques and guided to conform to peer pressure, when the real beauty of life lies in celebrating our true selves,” said IsaCat regarding the production of this video.
The video takes us to an enchanted Alice in Wonderland like tea party set in a circus/carnival setting where all of your teen age dreams are possible. We watch IsaCat and her guests unfold and capture the essence of adolescence when you are your boldest and finest while tainted by insecurities.
“My Kingdom” is the first release from her EP under the same title. It is the production of accomplished composer and producer William Benedetti. The song is a biographical account of the thrilling feelings found in new love. “My Kingdom” also offers an anthem about self acceptance in the teen years. This first EP invites the listener to experience life through intensly colored lenses where uniqueness is celebrated. “My Kingdom” attempts to capture adolescence that stage of life when you are your boldest and finest while tainted by insecurities. Absolute bliss mixed with nauseating fear, the constant rollercoaster of rushing emotions.
